About the role

Location: 1st Floor, Springfield House, 29 Springfield Road, Chelmsford CM2 6JE

Hours: Monday-Friday 9-5.30pm

Driving License ESSENTIAL.

Salary: up to £26k + commission  

Hybrid 3 days in the office / 2 days from home

The Chelmsford Adecco branch have an incredibly rare opportunity! They are looking for a candidate consultant who is looking to step up into a sales consultant. However, we also recognise the recruitment sales side isn’t for everyone, so we are also keen to see those apply who are wanting to enter the world of recruitment. The world where you are on the phone, making lasting and meaningful relationships with the working population!

Are you currently working as a sourcer in recruitment or within customer service where you are making outbound calls and wish to see those skills elevated and propelled into a commercial environment?

We’d love to hear from you if you're a conversationalist, who is not afraid to pick up the phones, be face-to-face with clients and candidates alike and put yourself forward for opportunities.

You’ll be supporting the warm Perms desk, offering administration and sales support. But if you’re looking to become a sales consultant, during this time you will be learning how to make client leads, qualify candidates, and fill your clients’ vacancies to ensure you see the lucrative winning side of recruitment!

Samantha, our branch manager, leads an exceptional team at the Chelmsford branch. Ranked as the Adecco Number 3 top-earning branch nationwide, our team boasts unparalleled success and a wealth of knowledge, promising abundant opportunities for growth and development.

Rebecca, our current Perms Consultant, delivered outstanding results in 2023, significantly contributing to the branch's prosperity. Supported by Victoria, our dedicated Candidate Consultant, Jenny, the exemplary Principal Temps Consultant, and her candidate consultant Millie, our team is further strengthened by Emily, another skilled Temps Consultant managing a distinct geographical area.

Together, this dynamic ensemble forms the backbone of our branch, united by their unwavering dedication to their roles and a shared commitment to excellence. We eagerly anticipate welcoming a new member who embodies the qualities of assertiveness, enthusiasm, and motivation, ready to embark on a journey towards building a remarkable career alongside us.

What you'll be doing

In your initial few months as a Candidate Consultant, you will be responsible for following up with candidate prospects, proactively looking for candidates, following compliance processes, such as right to work checks, and ensuring the office continues to be an environment where consultants are supported, and the branch runs smoothly.

You will be responsible for promoting the branch, ensuring you are being the best ambassador for the branch’s client base and candidate pool. This is a rare opportunity in this branch to develop into a recruitment consultant relatively quickly, so ideally you will be ready to take on this responsibility and can see yourself progressing to a 360 recruiter, with the right guidance and learning behind you.

  • Proactively resource candidates for active client vacancies as well as pipelining talent relevant to the current market sectors.
  • Handle incoming candidate CVs, pre-screening and arranging candidate appointments and guide candidates through the interview process.
  • Assisting with the interview process to assess candidate qualifications, skills and previous work history.
  • Using video interviewing technology and assessments to shortlist and select candidates.
  • Proactively understanding current clients requirements.
  • Build market knowledge of clients within each sector.
  • Daily use of internal CRM system and recruitment tools (which will be taught).
  • Interact and liaise with clients on daily basis.
  • You're highly organised, you can structure and prioritise your workload to achieve your targets.
  • You are proactive and always looking to delight customers.
  • You're able to fix next steps and deadlines very clearly thanks to outstanding and clear communication on what's expected from the customer.

Additional duties of a Sales Consultant:

  • Growing the weekly client base by supplying permanent staff to a number of business in the local area.
  • Providing a specialist consultative service by developing a thorough understanding of your Town/City.
  • Using sales, business development, marketing techniques and networking to attract business from companies.
  • Visiting companies to build and develop working relationships.
  • Develop a good understanding of companies, their industry, what they do and their work culture and environment.
  • Advertising vacancies by drafting and placing adverts in a wide range of media, for example websites and magazines.
  • Headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates who may already be in work.
  • Receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews and tests and creating a shortlist of candidates for the client.
  • Offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training, and career progression.

About you

Adecco Chelmsford are looking to see someone develop relatively quickly into a 360 consultant. Initially learning the ropes of a 180 consultant, you will work towards fine tuning your professional acumen and strive to match the success of your office counter parts.  

Are you someone who can prioritise and not get overwhelmed with a fast-paced environment? We are looking for someone who has an instinctual nature to get the branch in order and please our clients and candidates!
